How It Works

Getting started is simple and completely pressure-free. Here is what you can expect from our first conversation to your first session.

Step 1: Reach Out

Fill out the contact form or send an email to megan@mmcliteracycollective.com. Share a little about what you are noticing with your child, there is no wrong way to start this conversation.

Step 2: A Discovery Conversation

We will schedule a brief 20-minute call, just the two of us, to talk through what you are seeing, ask questions, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. No commitment required.

Step 3: Literacy Assessment

If we decide to move forward, we begin with a thorough, research-based literacy assessment. This helps us understand exactly where your child is in their reading and writing development: their strengths, their gaps, and what kind of support will make the most difference.

Step 4: Your Personalized Plan

Based on assessment results, I will share clear, jargon-free recommendations and a personalized literacy plan. We will review findings together, discuss next steps, and answer any questions you have before moving forward.

Step 5: Begin Working Together

Sessions are scheduled based on your child’s needs and your family’s availability in-person in Barrington, Illinois or virtually from anywhere. Progress is ongoing and shared with you every step of the way.
